Parish Clergy - In Present & 3rd Church

Welcome
Rev. David Currie

October 1977 saw the arrival of Fr. Currie as Curate from St. Anthony's, Govan. Fr. O'Leary asked him if he would take on the responsibility of looking after the Men's Sodality and Fr. Currie was delighted to accept. The choir also became part of his duties as curate and he was proud of the work they did in helping make the liturgy come alive.

As a priest, Fr. Currie enjoyed the ordinary, everyday parish work and daily contact with people in the parish made his vocation something he cherished. In 1981 he celebrated his Silver Jubilee to

the priesthood while still at St. Paul's, before moving on to St. Joseph's, Faifley on 1st March 1985. This meant that he missed the building of the new parish house which had been spoken about on many occasions during his ministry but never materialised. Unfortunately, due to ill health, he had to retire and now lives in Dumbarton from where he sends his best wishes to his many friends within the parish.
