Rev. John G. Campbell

Fr. Jeremiah Carroll was given a surprise birthday present, or was it an April Fool, on 1st April 1990, by the Archdiocese. Fr. Campbell arrived from St. Ninian's, Knightswood, where he had been since his ordination in September 1987.

Fr. Campbell was born on 19th July 1963, the first of four sons to Jimmy and Alice Campbell. He was educated in St.Kessog's, Balloch, St.Peter's, Bellsmyre and attended St.Pat's High School, Dumbarton. He then began his priestly studies at St.Peter's, Newlands moving on to Chesters College in Bearsden before being ordained in St. Peter's, Bellsmyre, Dumbarton in September 1987. This was a special occasion, not only for the Campbell family but also for the parish of St. Peter's as this was, and remains, the only priestly ordination to take place there.

Fr. Campbell was our assistant priest from April 1990 until 2000, when after the death of Fr. Burns he became parish priest a role in which he still serves the parish.

First Communion Practice: Sunday 6th of May - Time as arranged.

First Communion Mass: Sunday 13th of May - At all Sunday Masses.

Mass of Thanks giving: procession and presentation of certificates - Solemnity of Corpus Christi 10th June at 10am Mass , attended also by The Knights of the Holy Sepulchure.
