Welcome to the Vocations section of our website:

| Underlying Principles in Vocation Awareness |
- Each of us is called by God. This call is rooted in Baptism, and is a way of participating in the mission of Jesus.
- No call is more important than another.
- Most people will choose marriage. Some people are single and may choose to serve God in that state of life. Others may choose to be sisters, priests, or brothers.
- All lifestyles are needed for the sake of God's people, to make the picture complete.
- Priesthood and religious life continue to evolve in ways never presented by the stereotypical and negative images in the media.
- Sistes, priests, and brothers are ordinary people who don't claim to be perfect, but desire to be of service in how they live and work.
- Priesthood and religious life are for healthy, happy, energetic women and men, not for people who have no other options.
- A celibate choice is a valid and healthy way of loving that demands an integrated sense of self and one's sexuality.
- Personal invitation continues to be the main reason someone chooses to consider religious life and priesthood as possible options.

At the moment in our parish we have three men training for the permanment Deaconate.

“Spiritually motivated, well-trained deacons, employed in meaningful tasks, are a necessity for the Church today. They are neither substitutes for a parish priest nor social workers. They represent the deacon Jesus Christ in a sacramental manner, bringing into our world the "love of God, which the Holy Spirit has poured out into our hearts." (Rom 5:5). They are pioneers of a new “civilization of love.” They are a blessing for the Church and for the people entrusted to us. This is why we must press on with renewal of diaconia and of the diaconate, translating ever more fully into the reality of ecclesial life the impetus given by the Holy Spirit through Vatican II”. Cardinal Kasper

Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood
Father in heaven, we give you thanks for sending
your son, Jesus Christ, into the world to be our
Lord, Saviour and High Priest. We believe that, in
the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus won for us the
gift of eternal life by His sacrifice on the Cross.
We believe too that Jesus Renews this sacrifice
in the Holy Eucharist, through the ministry of his
priests.
Father, we humbly ask you, raise up Holy priests
in your Church. Grant men the strength to accept
generously the call to the priest hood. May they
joyfully give their lives so that all your people might
receive Your holy word and Sacraments - most
especially the Holy Eucharist, the great gift of the
Body and Blood of your Son, Jesus Christ, through
whom we make this prayer. Amen
